Having direct tv broken arrow at home has made the move easier for my wife, definitely. I love her to death but she doesn’t seem to understand that it’s going to be a long road and that my hours are going to be far worse than they ever were back in Texas. I keep trying to talk to her about the benefits of this new job I have and about how great our new house is but at the end of the day it’s hard telling someone why their new life is so much better than their old life when their old life was actually pretty good! But she’s still able to watch all her shows and I think that’s really what makes me feel better about the situation. She can call up her mom and they can chat about Oprah or Housewives or whatever it is that they watch and that’s the honest truth – they really get a lot out of that kind of thing. I’m just hoping we’re able to make it work here.

I’m not a good cook and I never have been but when I moved to Seattle I decided to learn because there are so many great farmers markets here and there’s also a lot of really good fresh seafood. So anyway, I started taking classes at a local culinary school and I actually even got some Seattle TV packagesthat included the Food Network and the Cooking Channelso I could learn from all the famous chefs and that’s actually helped a lot. Now I feel like I sort of know what I’m doing when I go to the market and pick out some produce and the thing I can tell you that I’ve definitely learned is that the less you do to your item, the better it’s going to be. I like simple preparations not only because I think it tastes better but because it’s easier, too, and if there’s one thing about cooking I don’t really like it’s how much effort it takes! I don’t want to be in the kitchen all day!

Why I Got Into This Business

I got into this business to sell houses and because I loved architecture but lately I feel like I've been more like a counselor than a broker. A lot of my clients are first time home buyers so they've got tons of needs and questions and it’s taken me a while to realize it's all part of the deal when they’re giving me commission. I talk about everything from directtv CA to insurance agents in town to the best bars you can walk to from certain neighborhoods you wouldn’t believe the things people ask me! I love doing this job and in this economy it's been helpful to have something else set me apart and if it's my rapport then so be it. I'm hoping I can ride out the downturn and all signs point to that being possible but I guess we'll have to wait a few more years and see what happens. I love this business but now is not a great time to be a real estate agent as anyone else can tell you!

The characters, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby-Doo, travel all over the world trying to solve mysteries that have never been solved by even the smartest people alive, such as the detectives and the police.

I love American Idol.

By far my favorite competitive television show on TV is American Idol. Every time it is on, I turn on my satellite tv and sit back and enjoy the show. I honestly can't understand how anybody couldn't like this show. From the contestants to the judges, it's just great.

Every week singers are competing against each other trying to show who can sing and perform the best. Sometimes the judges can be harsh. Other times, the performance may bring a judge to tears. I often find myself getting a favorite early on and cheering them on for the whole season.

The first few episodes of American Idol are especially funny because they show people that shouldn't even attempt to be on the show. Some of them must know they can't sing. I guess they just want to be on DirecTV even if it is for the wrong reasons. Who wants to be humiliated on national television. Then there are the people that just blow you away from the very first time. You can just tell that they are going to make it deep into the season.

If you are looking for a great show to watch, check out American Idol, you will no doubt get hooked. You will find yourself picking a favorite and wanting to see if they can make it to the end.

We Love Camping

A few months from now, school will be over and that means it will be vacation! This also means that my kids will be off to their yearly summer camp. We have allowed them to join camps and other outdoor activities so that they can learn a lot from their surroundings and to expose them to the outside world. When summer camps draw near we always help them prepare their camping tents, and their camping gear.

Just recently, we bought new camping stoves too because the old ones were starting to wear out and my hubby and I wanted a safe and user-friendly camping stove. My kids are very excited but sometimes, we camp out too, just outside, in our garden so that we will all be able to enjoy the cool breeze and sometimes just to star gaze and watch the night sky. This is one family activity that we always love to do and times like these are so precious and memorable for all of us.

My Favorite Travel Show on Satellite TV

One of my favorite television shows is "Diner's, Drive Ins, and Dive's". This is a travel show about different areas of the United States and the various cuisines in each region. In this television series, the host travels to various cities around the country to visit different restaurants and try their specialties.

I usually watch this travel show in the evenings on Specials on DIRECTV sports. It's a good way to unwind after a long day at work I really like this show because it combines two of my favorite things, which are cooking and travel. I don't have a favorite episode of this travel show, but I have enjoyed each episode that I have watched. Watching this travel show gives me ideas for recipes that I would like to try in my own kitchen, and lets me explore other areas of the country without leaving my couch. At some point, I would like to visit the states and towns featured in "Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives" but at the present time, watching this travel show is a great substitute for taking a vacation.
