Foreclosed Home

Post contributed by Hilton Miranda

We do not know many of our neighbors. In fact, the only neighbors that we ever talked to were the ones that lived across the street from us. We were so sad when they told us they were moving a few months ago. They had been struggling financially for a couple of years, and they decided to move in with some relatives for a few years in order to save money. They let their house go into foreclosure and moved pretty quickly. Their house has been vacant since the day that they left. It makes me nervous to have a vacant house so close to ours. There are not many homeless people in our area that I know of, but I started thinking about the fact that anyone could break into that house and live there. I thought that when the bank took possession of the house that they would post a sign in the yard or do something to try to sell it. However, it is vacant and I am not sure how long it will remain that way. We decided to look into different Home Security Systems so that we would feel safer with a vacant house across the street. Hopefully the bank will try to sell the house soon.
